- My college degree is Art Education. I also have a Masters in Education degree, an Elementary Education license, and Literacy Collaborative Coaching license.
- I think I may have started reading quilt blogs six years ago. They constantly nurture the quilting bug within me. After my retirement from teaching two years ago, quilting became a much larger portion of my time. I loved the idea of keeping a journal of the quilts I made, so I decided to start my own. Now not only does reading quilt blogs gives me encouragement, writing my blog gives me encouragement as well.
- My retired English teacher husband helps me edit my blog and drags me to one Notre Dame football game each fall. He added this fact. No, two facts.
- My son, his wife, and two sons live in Albuquerque. My daughter lives in Seattle. If I traveled to see all of them in the same trip I would cover a distance of 5,013 miles. I am willing! A texted picture of my grandsons will make me smile. For days.
- I come from a family of seven children. Three of my four sisters live in my Midwestern town. About six times a year we meet for "sister's breakfast," a favorite occasion for me.
- I love going to musical events. My college town will provide an opportunity this concert season for me to see and hear Branford Marsalis, the Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Pink Martini, Che Malambo and more. What a treat!
- My glasses are blue, my current favorite color.
My first nomination goes to Thelma at Cupcakes 'n Daisies. I have never met Thelma, but I know that we have at least one thing in common. We both like to re-imagine a quilt pattern in a new direction, making it unique. So satisfying.
