I caved and decided to give all three attention simultaneously.
I finished two more blocks for Desert Rose.
Six of sixteen are now complete.
I think I have around sixty.
No rush to accurately count since I will eventually need about 280.

Three quilt projects wormed their way into my sewing room. I caved and decided to give all three attention simultaneously. I finished two more blocks for Desert Rose. Six of sixteen are now complete. I continued house construction for Villages. I think I have around sixty. No rush to accurately count since I will eventually need about 280. The third project needs 36 modern log cabin blocks. Only one block here. I couldn't wait.

I counted. Do you want to know how many seemingly endless pieces I cut? 1,728. Each of 16 blocks will have 108 pieces. Yes. You read that correctly. 108. That was two days of cutting. Sewing began. Mishaps followed. This unacceptable seam and point alignment shown by the arrow, the joining of pieces that are nowhere in the pattern (What?! How?!), and the unfortunate pin mishap...Argh! (The pin does look pretty cool, though!) The resewn seam aligns quite well now. With thanks to my trustworthy, timeworn seam ripper, my liberal supply of pins, and my withering patience, I finally achieved some satisfying results. Meet the first blocks of Desert Rose. The lumps and bumps will quilt out I think.
