I am so excited to finally start this quilt! Many months ago I purchased this pattern while in a quilt shop with my sister in Arkansas. I saw this quilt on the wall when I walked in, and I immediately (being mesmerized) bought the pattern. Now I have the fabric I want and can begin. The fabric is from the Little Black Dress 2 collection by Basic Grey. My cut stacks are ready to go. I like to make one block before I begin chaining a bunch of blocks at once to make sure everything will fit together well. So here is my first block. Love these blocks.
February's stitching for Voices, my 2015 Block of the Month quilt, is completed. Voices is assembled by working from the center. This is how the beginning of the center medallion looked in January... With February's addition, the center medallion now measures 18 1/2 inches square, has 197 pieces, and looks like this... I am happy that it still measures correctly.
Ten more months of accurate...I hope...sewing to go. Stems is a mini wall hanging project gone totally in a different direction than I had originally intended. Here is the beginning... My machine quilting with this project was pathetic. Even though I measured &taped &measured &pinned &measured... the results were a frustrating disaster. and how in the world did THIS happen?!?!?!? I would have thrown the entire project in the trash except for the fact that I loved the fabric so much. Some intervention needed to happen... some ripping & re-stitiching & redesigning... until a pillow emerged... Stems
